Ground or beans?

Turkish coffee is ground very fine; ground coffee is ready to brew but loses flavor faster after opening. If you have a suitable grinder, beans keep their flavor longer. Copy the weight and roast as the store states them.

Keeping the flavor

Choose tightly sealed or vacuum packs, and order an amount you will use within a reasonable time after opening. Ask for a photo of the production or expiry date, and store the coffee in a dry place away from heat and light after delivery.

Odors and brewing tools

Coffee absorbs odors, so it should not be packed with detergents, perfumes or strong spices. If you buy a copper pot or cups, ask for separate packing that protects cups from breaking and the pot from denting.

Sending the order

Combine coffee with your other food purchases in one order, and write the address with the city, area, street, building number and a nearby landmark and an active phone number. Jordan is served overland through Syria or by sea to Aqaba depending on the shipment, with home delivery in Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, and cost and schedule are fixed before departure. The Jordan Food and Drug Administration is the official food authority in Jordan, so check its food import requirements and those of Jordan Customs before buying.
