Turkish Tea and Spices for Jordan

To buy Turkish tea or spices from a Turkish store for Jordan, choose factory-sealed packs printed with weight and expiry rather than open bags. Strong spices pass their smell to the rest of the parcel, so ask for them to be packed in separate sealed bags. Whole seeds, plants and some herbs may need an acceptance review, so ask before buying and check food import requirements.

Choosing tea

Turkish black tea is sold loose or in bags in different weights. Copy the type and weight from the page, choose a factory-sealed pack, and if you want a double teapot, ask for separate packing since it may be glass or dent-prone metal.

Keeping smells apart

Cumin, red pepper, sumac and spice mixes pass their smell easily to clothes and coffee. Ask for separate sealed bags plus an outer bag, and keep them away from clothing and odor-absorbing products.

Products that need review

Whole seeds, unprocessed dried plants and some herbs may face restrictions or special checks on import. Send the link and ask whether they are accepted before buying, and prefer processed, packed products with a clear label.

Combining the order

Combine tea and spices with your other food purchases, and write the address with the city, area, street, building number and a nearby landmark and an active phone number. Jordan is served overland through Syria or by sea to Aqaba depending on the shipment, with home delivery in Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, and cost and schedule are fixed before departure. The Jordan Food and Drug Administration is the official food authority in Jordan, so check its food import requirements and those of Jordan Customs before buying.
