The guitar’s road to Syria

Once the guitar is received at the warehouse we photograph it and test the neck and strings, then it travels overland towards Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama and arrives within roughly two weeks.

Pricing a guitar by volume

A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) is estimated at between 15 and 20 US dollars by region, with no customs. A guitar inside its case normally exceeds that carton and is priced on its volume, so ask for the price before completing the purchase.

Padding and string tension

The guitar goes into its hard case and then into a padded carton, with foam filling the gap around the neck. Loosen the strings a little instead of leaving them tight, and verify your country’s regulations before requesting commercial quantities.

Wood and neck before ordering

A classical guitar with nylon strings differs from a steel-string acoustic and from an electric, and the wood and string height shape both sound and playing comfort. Check neck straightness and body size, and ask for a hard or thick case. String tension is eased slightly before shipping so changes in temperature do not crack the wood.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: the guitar takes the road route to Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama in roughly two weeks, the cheaper option for a bulky guitar in its case. Jordan: depending on quantity either road or sea, with drop-off in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba. The Gulf: by air from Istanbul in 3 to 5 days, and a guitar is usually charged by volume rather than weight. Music shops ordering in bulk get a separate quote.
