Ordering a drum kit from a Turkish store

How the kit reaches Syria

The parcel leaves by road and arrives after about two weeks, delivered in the main cities. At handover, count the cartons and check the skins, stands and cymbals, and photograph any break or crack before signing.

Volume and a reference price

A full kit is bulky, so the price follows volumetric weight and it may need more than one carton. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) carries a reference price of 15 to 20 dollars by region, customs excluded.

Packing

Wrap each cymbal alone in thick padding with paper between them, and pack stands taken apart. Bulk orders are quoted separately.

Size and cymbals before choosing a kit

An acoustic drum kit is a large set of drums and stands, while an electronic one is lighter, quieter and suits flats. Decide whether you want the full kit or the drums only, since Turkish cymbals are bought separately and need firm wrapping so their edges do not crack. A small or children’s kit is enough for a beginner and saves volume.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: by land with delivery after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, where an acoustic kit needs several cartons sent together. Jordan: by land or sea depending on the shipment, delivered in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba, and sea saves money on a full kit if time allows. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul in 3 to 5 days, which suits cymbals and a light electronic kit better than a full acoustic one. Bulk orders get a separate quote in each country.
