How craft supplies reach Syria

The load crosses by land in about two weeks and is handed over in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. On arrival open the carton and check paint tubes for leaks and canvas corners for dents, and photograph any damage before you sign.

Size and a reference price

Sets are light, but large canvases are what set the parcel size. The medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) has a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, and paints and brushes can be added to it.

Paints and solvents

Acrylic and watercolour paints are usually fine, while solvents and spray paints are flammable and cannot ship. Ask for tube caps to be taped. Syria may apply charges by value and quantity, and studio and school orders are priced separately.

Contents and sizes before ordering

Craft supplies are chosen by canvas size, number of colours and paint type before the price: acrylic suits canvas and wood, watercolour suits thick paper. Count the pieces in a set and look at the bristle quality of the brushes, because a big cheap set often holds brushes that shed.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: craft supplies arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, with canvas corners padded and paint tube caps taped. Jordan: land suits Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, and sea suits studio and school orders, while spray paints and solvents stay under shipping limits. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul suits small art sets, but large canvases raise dimensional weight, so compare the dimensions before ordering. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and studios and schools get a separate quote.
