How clarinets reach Syria

The shipment moves overland for roughly two weeks and reaches Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Open the case in front of the courier, check the keys, joints and mouthpiece, and photograph any damage before signing.

A small case and a reference price

A clarinet comes apart into pieces in a small hard case, so it fits in the medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with the reeds and accessories, with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs not included. Extra wrapping is better than pressure on the keys.

Key and care

A B-flat clarinet suits teaching and a G clarinet suits eastern music. Wood reacts to heat and humidity, so do not leave it in a hot parcel. Charges may be applied in Syria by value and quantity, and shop orders are priced separately.

Case and reeds before ordering

A clarinet is bought with its hard case and a few spare reeds: ask which reed strength suits your level, make sure cork grease and a cleaning swab are included, and check that the keys are not bent and the joints slide in smoothly. It ships taken apart inside its case, and the case is wrapped in an extra layer so the keys are not pressed.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: a clarinet arrives by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and its safety depends on a hard case and extra wrapping for the keys. Jordan: land suits Amman, Irbid and Aqaba, and the instrument is light, so sea is not worth it. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul suits a light instrument in a small case, and avoid high heat inside the parcel. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and shops get a separate quote.
