How calculators reach Syria

They travel by land for about two weeks after the shipment leaves and are delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Switch each calculator on as soon as it arrives and try the keys and the screen, and photograph any fault in the casing before you sign.

Light items before term starts

Calculators are light and small so they hardly add to the parcel weight, and shipping is charged on size and weight together. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds many of them, so combine them with school and office supplies.

Exam-approved models

Some schools and universities set which scientific calculator models are allowed in exams, so check the list before ordering. Solar models with a backup battery last longer. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.

Type, model and power source before ordering

A calculator is chosen by what you will compute on it: a scientific one for school and university differs from an office or financial one, so read on the pack the number of display lines, the number of functions and whether it runs on solar power or battery only, check the list of models allowed in your institution’s exams, and open the calculator on arrival and try every key.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: calculators arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and they are light and small, so combine them with school and office supplies in one parcel before term starts. Jordan: land suits Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, and check the models allowed at your school or university before ordering. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul suits their light weight ahead of exam seasons, and each educational body sets its own list of allowed models, so ask yours first. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and shops get a separate quote.
