How bedspreads reach Syria

They travel by land for about two weeks after the shipment leaves and are delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Spread it out on receipt and measure its length and width on your own bed before you sign, and watch for bunched filling in a quilted one.

Quilted ones are bulky

A quilted bedspread takes a lot of volume, so it is charged on volume. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds two or three quilted bedspreads, and more of the single-layer kind.

Size and fabric

Check the bedspread size in centimetres and whether it fits a single, double or king bed, since Turkish sizes can differ from local ones. Read the cotton share and filling, and ask for embroidered pieces to be wrapped so they do not crease. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.

Size, filling and stitching before ordering

A bedspread is bought by size and filling: read in the description its length and width in centimetres and whether it covers the sides of the bed, whether it is quilted with a filling or a single layer, the fabric and the embroidery or quilting, whether pillow shams come with it, and how to wash it.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: bedspreads arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and they take volume when folded, especially quilted ones, so count cartons by volume and open the parcel on receipt to check the size. Jordan: land or sea suits several bedspreads for Amman and Irbid, and it is best to confirm the bed size before ordering because returns across the border are costly. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul is charged on volume and a quilted bedspread is bulky, so for a single piece a single-layer bedspread is cheaper, or ship it with a bedding set. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and hotels ordering in bulk get a separate quote.
