Why is a rug charged on dimensional weight?

The roll is long and bulky, so actual and dimensional weight are compared and the greater is charged.

Can I buy an old handmade rug from Türkiye?

Old rugs may face export restrictions; ask the seller for proof that export is allowed before buying.

Will waves from rolling disappear?

They usually ease after the rug is unrolled and left to settle; follow the store’s care instructions.

Turkish Rugs for Oman: Size, Material, Packing

To buy a rug from a Turkish store for Oman, write the size in centimeters as shown on the product page, the material, pile height and backing as the store states them, plus color, quantity and a price ceiling. Rugs are heavy and long when rolled, so shipping is usually charged on dimensional weight after packing; ask for the estimate once the roll is packed, and write the address with the governorate, wilayat, neighborhood and a nearby landmark and an active phone number.

Details to send with the rug link

Send the link to the rug itself and the chosen size in centimeters, since one design is sold in several sizes and prices. Copy the material, pile height and any anti-slip backing as the store states them, ask for extra photos if the color differs between images, and name an acceptable alternative if the size sells out.

Choose the right type for your home

Machine-washable rugs suit kitchens and children’s rooms if the store says so explicitly with washing instructions; high-pile rugs are softer but heavier and harder to clean. Prayer rugs and small rugs are easier to ship. Old handmade rugs may face export restrictions in Türkiye, so ask the seller for proof that export is allowed before buying.

Why rug shipping costs vary

A large rug is usually rolled into a long tube, and its length and weight drive the cost; the length may exceed some parcel carriers’ limits. Ask for a review of rolled or folded packing according to the rug type and store instructions, and the roll’s weight and dimensions after wrapping, before confirming shipment. Combining several rugs in one roll may or may not save, depending on dimensions.

Checks before shipping to Oman

Inspect the rug once it reaches Türkiye, before international shipping, because returns from abroad are costly and may not be possible. Ask for wrapping that protects against moisture and dirt, and keep the invoice and a truthful description of contents and material. On arrival, unroll it and let it settle before judging any waves caused by rolling.
