Can I ship ironing boards I bought myself in Turkey?

Why can an ironing board cost more than its weight suggests?

It is long, so it is usually charged on volume, not weight.

Buying the board from the store

Order the board from a Turkish store that delivers within the country and write our centre address and your box number. If your card is refused, use Buy for Me and an 8% commission is added to the board’s price.

Checking legs and cover

We open the carton at the warehouse, test folding and unfolding the board, check the legs and cover and photograph them, then it travels overland to Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama and arrives in about two weeks.

Length and price

The board is long even if light, so shipping is usually charged by volume, and it will not fit a medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg), so it is priced by length with a reference of 15 to 20 US dollars per carton, customs excluded.

Spare cover

Buy a spare cover of the same size with the board because covers wear out with heat. For commercial quantities review your country’s import terms.

Length, height and cover

Ironing boards in Turkey are foldable, wall-mounted or compact tabletop models, with heat-resistant cotton covers. Measure the length when folded, look at the number of height settings and the strength of the legs, and pick a spare cover of the same size.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: the board travels overland to Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama in about two weeks, in its original carton with the legs protected. Jordan: Jordan is by road or sea, with delivery in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba. The Gulf: by air from Istanbul within 3 to 5 days, but the length often makes volume the charging basis. Furnishing shops ordering several boards receive a separate quote.
