How torches get to Syria

Parcels cross by road to Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama in about two weeks. Test the torch on receipt and check the battery sits firmly and does not shift.

The reference carton price

A torch is light, so the carton is priced by size. The reference for a 60×40×40 cm carton up to 15 kg is 15 to 20 dollars by region, customs excluded.

Batteries and packing

A rechargeable battery is separated from the body and wrapped in insulating material, and the front lens is protected with bubble wrap. Shops buying in quantity get a separate quote.

Brightness and battery before ordering

Hand torches differ in brightness rated in lumens, in beam range and in how they charge. Ask whether the battery is rechargeable through a charging port or runs on ordinary cells, and whether the body is aluminium and splash resistant. A strong torch with a lithium battery needs packing apart from the rest of the parcel, so order the size you really need for a pocket, the car or camping.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: overland in about two weeks to Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, with torches wrapped and their batteries kept apart from the rest of the parcel. Jordan: land or sea depending on quantity, delivered in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba. The Gulf: by air from Istanbul in 3 to 5 days, a torch being a small item that fits a shared carton. Equipment shops ordering quantities get a separate quote.
