How gear reaches Syria

It ships by road and arrives in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama after roughly two weeks. Inspect the rod on receipt and try the reel before signing.

Length raises the cost

A long rod needs a longer carton, so it is charged by volume. The reference for a 60×40×40 cm carton up to 15 kg is 15 to 20 dollars by region, customs excluded.

Hooks and protection

Hooks are packed in a rigid box and kept apart from the line, and the rod is wrapped in foam. Shops get a special quote.

Rod and line before ordering

Fishing gear differs by where you fish: fixed or telescopic rods for sea and river, reels in several sizes, and line rated by breaking strength in kilograms. Ask for the rod length when folded, since long ones need a special carton, and the right line strength for the target fish, and keep sharp hooks apart in a protective pack.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: overland in about two weeks, with the parcel reaching Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and long rods setting the carton length. Jordan: land or sea, delivered in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba, with Aqaba the closest for anglers on the Red Sea. The Gulf: by air from Istanbul in 3 to 5 days for small gear such as reels and line, while sea suits long rods. Tackle shops ordering quantities get a special quote.
