How a desk mat reaches Syria

The load crosses by land in about two weeks and is handed over in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. On arrival open the parcel, lay the mat on a flat surface and photograph any damage before you sign.

Length and a reference price

A mat is light but arrives as a long tube, so volume rules rather than weight. The medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) has a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, and the final price is confirmed per shipment.

Material and base

Faux leather wipes with a damp cloth, cork and felt are softer on the hand, and a rubber base stops the mat sliding. A mat may stay curled for a few days after opening, so leave it laid flat. Syria may apply charges by value and quantity, and shops are priced separately.

Size and material before ordering

A desk mat is chosen by size first: a small one for the mouse alone or a large one covering keyboard and mouse together, and then by material: faux leather wipes clean most easily, cork and felt feel softer for writing, and a rubber base stops slipping. Measure your desk in centimetres before ordering, and note that long mats arrive rolled, not folded.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: the mat arrives by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, rolled on a tube so it stays flat without fold marks. Jordan: land suits Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, and mats can share a parcel with other office items. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul suits one or two mats, and the length of the tube sets the price rather than the weight. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and offices and shops get a separate quote.
