Ordering a computer monitor from a Turkish store

How monitors reach Syria

The shipment crosses by land in about two weeks and arrives in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. On receipt open the carton, switch the screen on for a moment and check the surface for stains and dead pixels, and photograph any break before signing.

Size and a reference price

A monitor is mid-weight but its carton is large and shock-sensitive. The medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) has a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, and large or curved screens are charged on their volume.

Warranty and packing

Check the warranty is international or the brand has a local agent, as a Turkish-only warranty may not apply abroad. Ask for the original box with extra outer packing; the adapter runs on 220 V. Charges may be applied in Syria by value and quantity.

Resolution and refresh rate before ordering

A monitor is chosen by use: an office screen is fine with ordinary resolution and 60 Hz, a gaming screen needs a higher refresh rate and a short response time, and a curved one has a wider view but a bigger carton. Check that the monitor inputs match your computer ports before you order.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: monitors arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, shipped in their original box inside a larger carton with foam on the corners. Jordan: land suits Amman, Irbid and Aqaba, and sea suits office or company orders of several screens. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul suits a single monitor, and check that the power plug fits your sockets or carry an adapter. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and companies get a separate quote.
