How cat litter reaches Syria

The shipment travels overland for about two weeks and is delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. On opening, check the bags are not torn and the box lid is complete, and photograph any damage before you sign.

Weight decides

Litter is heavy, so the cost follows weight rather than volume, and tofu or silica is lighter than bentonite for the same number of days. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds only two or three bags, so work out a month of need before you order.

The box and the scoop

A covered box traps odour and limits scattering, and a high wall suits cats that dig a lot. Order the scoop with the box in the same order. Charges may be applied in Syria by value and quantity, and shop orders are priced separately.

Type and weight before ordering

Cat litter is chosen by its type and weight: prefer light types such as tofu if you will ship it from abroad, remember that bentonite bags are heavy and are charged by weight, choose a covered box with a high wall that stops scattering, and order the scoop with the box so they arrive in one parcel.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: cat litter arrives by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and it is heavy, so the cost follows weight and light tofu litter is cheaper than bentonite. Jordan: land suits Amman, Irbid and Aqaba, and for heavy quantities sea works out cheaper than air. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul suits one box and a small bag, while many bags are costly by air, so compare before ordering. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and shops get a separate quote.
