How the blankets reach Syria

Blankets travel by land for about two weeks after the shipment leaves and are delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Each piece is taken out of its large plastic bag and sealed in a vacuum bag, and you track the parcel from your account.

Volume sets the cost more than weight

A winter blanket is light but bulky, so it is charged on volume. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds two or more compressed blankets, while one uncompressed blanket can fill it.

Compressing and timing

Ask for blankets to be taken out of their large plastic carry bags and vacuum-compressed, unless they are gifts that need the bag. Order well before winter, since demand rises in season. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.

Bulk and compression

A winter blanket takes far more room than its weight suggests, so read the size and filling thickness before ordering. It can be vacuum compressed to roughly a third of its volume, which changes the cost because the charge follows volume and not weight.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: compressed blankets arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and it helps to order early before the cold season. Jordan: land freight is enough for most orders, and blankets and quilts are best sent in one shipment so they share the cost. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul is expensive for large blankets because they are charged by volume, so compress them first or pick lighter ones. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and hotels and furnishing traders buying wholesale get a separate quote.
