Shipping Bird Cages from Turkey to Syria, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia: Cost and Time

Shipping bird cages and supplies from Turkey goes to Syria by land in about two weeks, to Jordan by land or sea, and to the Gulf by air in about 3 to 5 days; they are bulky so a take-apart cage cuts the volume, and no birds are shipped. Ordering bird cages from a Turkish store

Read the cage dimensions in centimetres, the bar spacing in millimetres, the metal and whether feeders and perches come with it. Enter the receiving-centre address with your box number at checkout, and if the store rejects your card send the links with Buy for Me, and the parcel stays free at the warehouse for 30 days.

How bird cages reach Syria

They travel by land for about two weeks after the shipment leaves and are delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Check the welds, the bars, the door and the bottom tray, make sure the perches and feeders are all there, and photograph any dent before you sign.

Bulky, so choose one that comes apart

A cage takes more space than its weight suggests, and a large carton with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds one or two. Choose a take-apart or foldable model to cut the volume, and note that the shipment is cages and supplies only, with no birds.

Size and bar spacing

Bar spacing must suit the bird size so its head cannot get stuck or escape; canaries and budgies need close bars, large parrots stronger ones. Choose a cage wide enough for the bird to spread its wings. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.

Cage size, bar spacing and bird type before ordering

A bird cage is chosen by the size of the bird, not the look of the cage: read in the description the cage dimensions in centimetres, the bar spacing in millimetres (narrow for canaries and finches, wider for parrots), the metal and the bar coating, and whether feeders, perches and a pull-out cleaning tray come with it.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: bird cages arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, bulky yet light so the parcel is charged on volume, so ask for the cage to be dismantled or shipped flat where possible and check the welds and bars on receipt. Jordan: land suits Amman and Irbid, and for bird shops ordering several sizes sea is preferable for large quantities because cages take up space. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul is charged on volume rather than weight, so choose a foldable or take-apart cage to cut the fare. The shipment is cages and supplies only, no birds. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and shops get a separate quote.
