How beach bags reach Syria

They travel by land for about two weeks after the shipment leaves and are delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Open the carton on receipt and check that the straw was not crushed or mouldy from humidity, and try the zip and straps.

Light but needs protection from crushing

A bag is light so cost does not grow much, but straw and mesh need nothing stacked on top. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds several bags.

Material and capacity

Straw bags look elegant but resist water less, while waterproof bags suit the pool and wet clothes. Pick enough capacity for towels and essentials, with a zip and an inner pocket for small items. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.

Material, opening and drainage before ordering

A beach bag is judged by how well it handles sand and water: read in the description whether it is woven straw, coated canvas or mesh, whether it has a water-resistant lining and a zip or wide open top, the strap length and the capacity in litres for a towel, sunscreen and a bottle. Natural straw is affected by humidity during sea freight.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: beach bags arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and being light and foldable they pack into a carton without losing shape, though straw should be protected from crushing. Jordan: land or sea suits a quantity ordered before summer for Aqaba and resorts, and straw should be wrapped in paper away from humidity. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul is quick for the beach season and fits because the bags are light, but a large straw bag is charged by volume, not weight. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and shops and resorts ordering in bulk get a separate quote.
