How bathroom scales reach Syria

They travel by land for about two weeks after the shipment leaves and are delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. Inspect the glass platform on receipt before signing, and switch the scale on once to check the reading.

Light but the glass is fragile

A scale is light so cost does not grow much, but the glass needs protection. A medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) with a reference price of 15 to 20 US dollars by region, customs excluded, holds several scales wrapped in foam.

Accuracy and app

Check the maximum weight and accuracy (for example 100 g), the battery type and whether it is included. Smart scales need an app, so check it is available in your language and works with your phone before buying. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.

Capacity, accuracy and battery before ordering

A bathroom scale differs by maximum load and reading accuracy: read the capacity in kilograms and the graduation (100 or 50 grams), and whether the platform is tempered glass, metal or plastic. Check the battery type: lithium coin cells, AAA batteries or USB charging, and whether it includes body-fat measurement and phone-app syncing.

Transit, delivery and price by country

Syria: scales arrive by land after about two weeks in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, and being light and flat they are wrapped in foam to protect the glass platform from breaking. Jordan: land freight suits ordering several scales together or for pharmacies and fitness centres, with extra cardboard on corners and glass. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman: air from Istanbul fits because they are light, but ask about the battery type because some carriers restrict lithium coin cells and rechargeable batteries by air. Charges may apply in each country by value and quantity, and commercial quantities get a separate quote.
