How many meters of fabric should I order?

Work it out with your tailor by fabric width and add a margin for cutting and shrinkage if advised.

Will color differ if I order more later?

It can vary between dye lots; order the full quantity from the same lot.

Is fabric rolled or folded for shipping?

Folding reduces volume and air shipping cost; rolling suits crease-sensitive fabrics.

Buying Turkish Fabrics for Qatar Tailoring

To buy fabric from a Turkish store and ship it to Qatar, specify length in meters, width and composition as the seller lists them, and order a small swatch first if color matters. Ask for the whole quantity from the same dye lot, because color can vary between lots. Folding takes less space than rolling on a tube, and air shipping is charged on the higher of actual and volumetric weight, so agree the packing before shipping.

What to specify when ordering fabric

Write the required length in meters, width, composition and color or color number as shown on the product page. Work out the quantity with your tailor before buying, since width changes how many meters one garment needs, and add a margin for cutting and shrinkage if advised.

Why order a swatch first

Color, texture and thickness in photos do not always match the real fabric. If the store sells small swatches, order one first, or ask for a daylight photo of the fabric once it reaches Türkiye and before the full quantity ships, so you decide before paying for shipping.

Does color differ between lots?

Fabric color can vary slightly from one dye lot to another, which shows clearly if two pieces are sewn from different lots. Order the full quantity in one order from the same lot where possible, and avoid topping up a short quantity later for a single garment.

Folding or rolling for air shipping

Rolling fabric on a tube prevents creases but makes the box longer and raises the volumetric weight used for air shipping, while folding reduces volume. Agree the method by fabric type: crease-sensitive fabrics may need rolling, while most others can be folded in a bag that protects them from moisture and dirt.
