Abayas and Modest Wear from Türkiye to Oman

To buy an abaya, hijab or modest piece from a Turkish store for Oman, send the link with size, length in centimeters and color, and compare your measurements with that store’s chart. Read the fabric type and how sheer it is, and ask for a daylight photo once the item reaches Türkiye if color matters. Combine items in one tightly folded parcel, since air shipping is charged on the higher of actual and volumetric weight.

Choosing length and size

Abayas and long dresses come in different lengths, so measure from shoulder to floor in centimeters and compare with the store chart, along with shoulder width and bust. The same size can differ between Turkish brands, so do not rely on your size in another store.

What to check in the fabric

Read the fabric composition as the store lists it, how sheer it is and whether it needs a lining. Light fabrics are comfortable in Oman’s summer but some are see-through, while heavy fabrics add weight. If the description is unclear, ask for a fabric photo once the item reaches Türkiye.

Does the color match the photo?

Colors such as black, navy and beige vary a lot between photos, reality and screens. If you are matching an abaya with a hijab or another piece, ask for a daylight photo after arrival and before international shipping, because returns to the Turkish store usually happen before shipping.

Packing for air shipping

Abayas and scarves are light pieces that can be folded in protective bags inside a small box, which reduces volumetric weight. Embroidered or beaded pieces need extra protection. Combine purchases from several stores into one parcel, check the packed weight before confirming, and write the wilayat, area, street and house or building number accurately.
